2012 Convention - Canberra

Hi all, what a last week I had. We had our annual Stampin Up convention in Canberra this year and it was terrific. I met up with friends I have talked to but havent seen since last convention and met some lovely new people also.
I stayed with another 7 ladies in some appartments we rented for the week, it was wonderful catching up with them.

Convention was, well....WOW!!! Swapped cards with lots of ladies, got some great ideas for upcoming workshops.

Shelli and the team came over from Utah and the theme this year was "I AM". This was a powerful theme as not only did it make me look at myself as a demonstrator, it made me look at myself for ME. Shelli always says some very inspiring things and this time she did not disappoint.
We listened to a young man names Michael McQueen, who I thought was fantastic, he talked about understanding the different generations, from baby boomers to Gen Y and Gen Z. I learnt alot about my kids and other people in my life on how they see things. For a 30 year old and a Gen Y himself, he was a very informative and interesting talker.

Makes and Takes is always a great highlight of convention and this year they were wonderful as well, so many sneak peaks from the new Catalogue...wow now there is another big thing, our catalogue, we are going to be getting a who lot more than we are use to, which is so good. We are aligning with the American market, cant wait for all the new and gorgeous new stamp sets and tools (thats all I can say with out giving it away). Our new catalogue will be 30pages more and you will no longer have to buy it, so if you want to be on the waiting list for a new one as soon as they are available, email me and let me pop you on the list.

I had my photo take not once but twice with Shelli our CEO and co-founder from Utah. It was my aim to get back into a dress I havent worn in 14yrs, and well....I DID IT!!! So why not celebrate with a few pictures take at one of our sessions and one at our lovely dinner that Stampin Up put on for the awards night.
Lots of fun times at convention, lots of free new stamp sets and other items and a new I am creative class which was big season on just making a advent calendar using new DSP, stamp sets etc....so as you can see we all went home filled to the brim with lots of lovely new sets to play with.
Next year is in Brisbane and I cant wait, our insentive trip this year is all expenses paid to the home office in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I am aiming high this year, so if you would like to come have fun and join our team let me know, by email or on the phone (03 8711 4401 or 0411 260 583) from anywhere in Australia. Its not all about 3 days a year at convention, we have a great time all year round with get togethers, a community on own forum where we help each other out with things like support for helping our team grow, a sounding board for ideas, ears when we just need someone to listen to us and chit chat about our every day life, team swaps and ideas and the most important, great friendships.

Anyway off to go look at all the great swaps I got from convention and the 100's of photos I took. Once I get them all sorted I will post up pics of my won swaps.

Until next time....HAPPY STAMPIN!!!

Alisha
